I picked up a Zephyr that RROD from a buddy of mine and re-flowed it. It booted stock nand CB 4578 and Dash version 13599 (going from memory on the dash)
I had a [email protected] V1 glitch chip and a [email protected] nand programmer. Wired and soldered the nand programmer in just fine, wired soldered up the [email protected] v1. Used JRunner (newest beta version .215) I dumped the nand several times (with 1 bad block) (I chose RGH) created ECC, wrote the ECC to the nand. Interestingly enough, the ****** programmer reacts strangely in Jrunner - bad block reported on programming (anything) but still works. Clicked "Flash coolrunner" after hooking up a jr programmer v2 to the [email protected] V1 glitch chip. Flashed Zephyr timing file to it, tried every timing file i could with NO success. I could always hear the fans when the device would glitch, still nothing. (black screen) Tried adding recommended caps to the ******, changing wire guages, re-routing wires different paths. Reflashing back to stock nand , remove ****** v1 boots fine.
Removed crappy [email protected] NAND programmer and soldered in wires for the JR Programmer - still has bad block on nand read, no errors on writing to nand now (must have been the ****** programmer causing j-runner to give bad block messages on writes) Still nothing.
Ordered a Coolrunner Rev C - going to try it next. Had success with a slim trinity but this Zephyr is a real crap pile. Always when i take it back to stock nand, it boots fine. Ready to take it out to the field and shoot holes in it - (glitch it the old fashioned way) with my AK47. I've spent countless hours experimenting with everything forums say - it just winks at me and throws the middle finger up.
